Why do we offer waistcoats mainly in long sizes? Quite simply: so that no shirt flashes between the waistcoat hem and the waistband of the trousers. Because that simply doesn't look good. Obvious? However, since a 100 does not exist for textile technical reasons, you take a 98, because the basic formula is ready-to-wear size x 2 - 2. (50x2=100 -2 = recommended long size: 98).
